At 12noon (GMT) on 16 January 2017 the allocation of seats put aside for those who registered for priority booking will go on sale for the West End production of HAMILTON.Β  The general public booking will open at 12noon (GMT) on 30 January 2017 for the same performances in the first booking period.Β  This initial release of tickets will include reduced price preview performances beginning 21 November 2017 and regular priced performances through to 30 June 2018.Β  Seats will be available for all performances on both priority and public booking dates.Β  Official opening night is scheduled for 7 December 2017.Β

In order to protect patrons from paying highly inflated prices, the producers of HAMILTON are determined to combat the unauthorised profiteering of third party resellers and ticket touts.Β  Delfont Mackintosh Theatres are pioneering for the West End a paperless ticket system for this production – HAMILTON Paperless Ticketing, powered by Ticketmaster.

No physical tickets will be issued in advance.Β  Upon arrival at the theatre on the day of the performance, patrons will be asked to swipe the payment card they used to originally purchase their tickets to gain admission into the theatre.

Patrons wishing to pay by cash can only do so once the Box Office at the Victoria Palace Theatre reopens in the autumn.Β  Additional security measures to prevent profiteering of tickets purchased by cash customers will also be in place.

London Producer and Theatre Owner Cameron Mackintosh said:

β€œI’m delighted to announce, as we open booking for the much anticipated, revolutionary new musical HAMILTON, that in an effort to combat the gouging of the public with hugely inflated ticket prices by third party profiteers, my theatre company Delfont Mackintosh Theatres will be operating a new paperless ticketing system, a first for the West End, powered by Ticketmaster.Β  By not issuing physical tickets in advance, we aim to dramatically reduce the ability to resell seats at a hugely inflated price on secondary ticketing websites.Β  To give the widest possible audience the chance to see Lin-Manuel Miranda’s brilliant musical, Jeffrey Seller, the original American producer and I have designated 295 seats per performance to be Β£37.50 or less and the public will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of tickets both on the day or a week in advance through our daily and weekly lotteries for as little as Β£20.Β  Excluding Premium tickets, our top price theatre ticket will be an all inclusive Β£89.50.Β  No additional charges will be permitted.”

Jeffrey Seller said:

β€œWe are thrilled to be going on sale in London and are filled with anticipation for starting performances in November. Hamilton is for everybody. I am gratified that our partner Cameron Mackintosh is working tirelessly with his team to insure accessibility for all audiences.”

Andrew Parsons, Managing Director, Ticketmaster UK said:

β€œI am delighted that Delfont Mackintosh Theatres have chosen Ticketmaster as their operating partner for the hugely anticipated West End production of Hamilton.Β  The producers have been very clear that they want all Hamilton tickets to get directly into the hands of real theatre fans, not touts, and we are incredibly excited that our proven Paperless technology will play a pivotal part in making this happen.”

Β

Full ticketing information can be found on the official website at hamiltonthemusical.co.uk and details of how to apply for the daily and weekly lotteries will be announced closer to performances.Β  Further ticket releases and casting will be announced at a later date via official HAMILTON channels.Β

PRIORITY BOOKING – registration for priority booking opened in June last year and closed on 31 October.Β  Depending on the take-up of the huge numbers who registered we may not be able to accommodate all priority bookers in the first booking period. Β

HAMILTON will re-open the Victoria Palace Theatre following an extensive multi-million pound renovation and expansion to the listed building.Β

HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today. The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway – the story of America then, as told by America now.
HAMILTON has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.Β

Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, HAMILTON has smashed box office records on Broadway where it continues its run at The Richard Rodgers Theatre with the largest advance ever recorded in theatre history.
A second US production is also playing to capacity at the PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago and a third US production will open in March at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco.
HAMILTON is produced in London by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman, The Public Theater and Cameron Mackintosh.
